The Raise Her Voice: Untold Stories of Women in the Workplace event series sets the stage to inspire a path forward to gender equality in honor of International Women’s Day and Women's History Month in March. Through the telling of unique, diverse, and candid stories, we’ll come together to celebrate the strong women that live the values of community, diversity, and authenticity every day.

Too often, we look to find motivation elsewhere rather than within ourselves.

What does it mean to be a storyteller?

A storyteller is an individual with a story worth sharing - that encompasses anyone! Being a Raise Her Voice storyteller implies that you are a speaker at a regional Raise Her Voice virtual event where you will have the opportunity to share your unique perspective.

Is there a criteria I need to meet in order to apply as a storyteller?

No. Although the Raise Her Voice series is intended to amplify the untold stories of women in the workplace, a storyteller does not need to meet specific age, gender, experience level, or other requirements.

Will the Raise Her Voice events be hosted in-person?

Due to the unforeseeable circumstances of COVID-19, Ellevate has opted to host Raise Her Voice events virtually, via Zoom, and at a regional level to support accessibility and safety for our community. We hope to host Raise Her Voice events in-person in 2022.

How many people can I nominate?

We know there are tons of powerful women you want to highlight, so there is no limit to the number of nominations you can submit! However, we do ask that you only submit an individual once to the closest location they can speak at.

Does my story need to meet a certain criteria?

Although there is no criteria, Raise Her Voice is a celebration of voices for International Women's Day, hence an emphasis on stories of women in the workplace. Honest and unique stories highlighting overcoming obstacles or commitment to values such as diversity, community, gratitude, authenticity, and integrity are highly encouraged. All stories will have a time limit of 5-7 minutes.

I have never done public speaking before. Is Raise Her Voice right for me?

Yes! It takes courage to speak in front of a group for the first time and we are glad you're considering taking that first step! Raise Her Voice aims to create a genuine, judgment-free space for you to be yourself. Ellevate will also host storytelling and public speaking webinars to prepare you in the best way.

When will the events be held?

Although the dates will vary based on the location, all events will be held throughout the month of March in accordance with International Women's Day (3/8) and Women's History Month.

How are storytellers selected?

Once submissions close, all applications will be shared with the public to vote. You may vote for up to three storytellers in each separate location.

How many storytellers will be selected?

Each Raise Her Voice location can accommodate a different number of speakers based on the length and format of the event, ranging from three to seven. Please remember to only apply to a region where you can physically be present to tell your story at the event.

I have more questions. How can I reach you?
